We would like to count on you in this mission: Operation Bushido: BJJ for Veterans Kick Off Fundraising Seminar with 10 Black Belts on May 16th at 4pm. Special Guests: UFC Fighters Glover Teixeira and Caio Magalhaes!
What is this Non-Profit Foundation and Project?
This project was created by a former Marine and War Veteran, Thomas Burke Jr. A BJJ Blue Belt that has suffered from PTSD after returning home. Thomas found in BJJ an outlet, a hobby, a passion, where he could train, find new friends, keeping him more balanced and healthy.
Many veterans come back home missing that brotherhood, hierarchy, and structure that the Military service provides. Suffering with PTSD, veterans for many complex reasons, isolate themselves developing many psychological issues.
Many veterans have benefited from training in healthy and positive BJJ schools. We would like to introduce our martial arts to these heroes, and help them find the balance they need to one day go back to college, graduate, find better jobs, and live normal lives.
YES, BJJ can be the step that can help them.
Our Foundation has no team affiliations. We soon will have a full website to explain our mission.
Meanwhile, we are putting together this super seminar, to raise funds to kick off this project. There are many expenses that will be covered with what we will receive: accountant fees, website development, merchandising, and we will be putting in a documentary our goals and missions. We want to spread our mission to many BJJ schools.
